Abstract

The cleanliness of root canal systems, whose purpose is to promote the elimination of microorganisms, is considered to be one of the main objectives in endodontic therapy, as well as determines its success. According to this line of thinking, new instruments, equipment, and materials are constantly being developed. In addition, Laser technology, which can be used in some dentistry procedures, are now being emphasized. The aim of this article, through a literature review, is to provide clarification for physicians and specialists as regards the use of Er:YAG and Nd:YAG lasers in the elimination of the microorganisms that colonize root canal systems.
