Contra a adjunção ao núcleo

Resumo: Este texto questiona a manutenção na Teoria da Gramática de dois mecanismos que, concorrendo um com o outro, são muito parecidos em vários aspectos: a Reanálise e a Adjunção. Iniciamos a argumentação apresentando e resolvendo os problemas teóricos gerais que surgem da coexistência destes dois mecanismos na Teoria da Gramática. A seguir, com base em certos problemas para os quais os dois mecanismos apresentam análises concorrentes, argumentamos a favor de que se elimine a Adjunção da Teoria da Gramática.

Abstract: This paper challenges the maintenance in the Theory of Grammar of two competing mechanisms which are very similar in many aspects: Reanalysis and Adjunction. As a first step in the argumentation we try to present and resolve the general theoretical problema which arise from the coexistence of these two mechanisms in the Theory of Grammar. Then we argue, on the basis of certain problems for which the two mechanisms offer competing analyses, that Adjunction should be removed from the Theory of Grammar.
