ESTUDO DA CONSERVAÇÃO URBANA E AMBIENTAL DO PARQUE BEIRA RIO EM TERESINA, PIAUÍ

Abstract

Parque Beira Rio, in the city of Teresina, capital of Piauí, comprises the border of the Poti River on the stretch of Avenida Raul Lopes between the Ministro Petrônio Portela Bridge and the Juscelino Kubitschek Bridge. The park is part of the East Zone of Teresina, where until the 1960s the existing neighborhoods were occupied by farms and the largest movement of people was around the Jockey Club of Piauí. In the 1990s, with the opening of Av. Raul Lopes, there was occupation for commercial use and for services close to the riverbank. In this context, the present work aims to analyze through current legislation, addressing aspects of urbanization and environmental preservation, since the area is considered to be at risk according to the flooding and flooding mapping carried out by the Teresina City Hall, but in parallel with the law of land use and occupation defines the area of ​​residential and commercial use. Thus, it seeks to demonstrate a lack of systemic reading and interpretation of the city's landscape in its urban and environmental aspects. Bibliographic, field research was carried out, with photographic survey, mapping of the area and consultation of the legislation related to the theme.
