Through the analysis of the lyrics, the harmony and concepts from intertextuality studies, we seek to understand how Gil operated on these structures, aiming to replace the 'being alone' (<em>ser só</em>) for 'just being' (<em>só ser</em>) in different levels of the song. <em>Preciso aprender a só ser</em> is also construed in the context of the symbolic show Gilberto Gil presented at USP in 1973, in order to contextualize the song from the socio-political reality inherent in the presentation.</p> ER -
