Trata-se da análise da produção do conhecimento científico relativo à mastectomia e sua influência sobre a vivência da sexualidade. Foi feita uma revisão sistemática da literatura nas seguintes bases de dados: Analysis and Retrieved System On-Line (MEDLINE); Literatura Latino-Americana e do Caribe em Ciências da Saúde (LILACS); Cummulative Index for Nursing and Allied Health Literature (CINAHL), Banco de Dados Bibliográficos da Universidade de São Paulo (DEDALUS). Foram encontradas 53 publicações, 55% delas relacionadas a resultados de pesquisa, 32% a relatos da assistência e 13% à prática clínica, e este conjunto enfocava sobretudo o aspecto psicossocial da temática.

Se trata del análisis de la producción del conocimiento científico referente a la mastectomía y su influencia sobre la vivencia de la sexualidad. Se realizó una revisión sistemática de la literatura en las siguientes bases de datos: Analysis and Retrieved System On-Line (MEDLINE); Literatura Latinoamericana y del Caribe en Ciencias de la Salud (LILACS); Cummulative Index for Nursing and Allied Health Literature (CINAHL), Banco de Datos Bibliográficos de la Universidad de São Paulo (DEDALUS). Se encontraron 53 publicaciones entre las cuales el 55% estaba relacionado a resultados de investigación, el 32% a relatos de la asistencia y el 13% a la práctica clínica; este conjunto enfocaba, sobre todo, el aspecto psicosocial de la temática.

This article is a review of scientific literature on mastectomy and its influence on sexual experience. The following databases were reviewed: On-Line Analysis and Retrieval System (MEDLINE); Caribbean and Latin-American Health Science Literature (LILACS), Cumulative Index for Nursing and Allied Health Literature (CINAHL); University of São Paulo Bibliographical Database (DEDALUS). 53 papers were found, 55% of which included research findings, 32% related experiences and 13% clinical practice. The latter focused mainly on psychosocial aspects.
