Abstract
Este editorial apresenta o dossiê temático “Tratamento, Organização e Representação do Conhecimento: princípios, metodologias, instrumentos e tecnologias”, situando-o no contexto atual onde a Ciência da Informação esta inserida. O dossiê reúne contribuições que articulam perspectivas epistemológicas, metodológicas e aplicadas em torno de temas centrais da área, como modelagem de domínios, desenvolvimento de ontologias, uso de metadados, interoperabilidade semântica e mediação da informação. Em conjunto, os trabalhos revelam um campo dinâmico, que articula rigor teórico e aplicação prática, reafirmando a importância da organização e da representação do conhecimento como bases para o desenvolvimento de sistemas informacionais mais inteligíveis, acessíveis e interoperáveis.
