The distinction and between persons and things in portuguese pronouns

Abstract

Resumo: ln Portuguese, there is a group of pronouns that never have an antecedent, never occur as determiners, and are invariable for gender or number (they do not have inflection). These pronouns can be divided into two classes, one used only to refer to things, the other for persons only.
