  • The text is being sent in Word files (.doc or .docx), OpenOffice or RTF, with the places of insertion of the figures and tables marked by their legend. The text is being sent in Arial font 12, double spacing, formatted according to the Guidelines for Authors;
  • Figures are being submitted separately, in accordance with the Guidelines for Authors;
  • The tables, if any, are being sent in a Word file, separate from the text of the manuscript;
  • The text follows the style standards and bibliographic requirements described in Guidelines for Authors, on the About the Journal page.

Diretrizes para Autores

  • The texts should be sent in Word files (.doc or .docx), with the places of insertion of the figures and tables marked by captions.
  • Figures must be submitted separately, accompanied by a digital file (jpg or tiff) with at least 300 dpi in the final publication size. All graphic, photographic and photomicrographical illustrations shall be numbered sequentially, in the order of their citation in the text, and considered, even the planks, indiscriminately as figures. The figures should be submitted in the size they should appear in Geonomos: maximum width of 7.5 cm (one column) or 15 cm (two columns). It is strongly recommended to prepare the figures by making economic use of the available space. Avoid using frames and excessive white space between the parts of a figure.
  • Tables should be sent in a Word file, separate from the text of the manuscript.

Preparation of manuscripts

  • Texts
The texts should be written in Arial 12, with double spacing, following the structure below:
  1. From the first page on, in sequence, the title (bold, centered) full name of the author (s), institutional link, address (mailbox, post office, zip code, city and state, email).
  2. Summary: Single paragraph, without references, with a maximum of 250 words, followed by keywords (minimum 3, maximum 5, uppercase).
  3. Abstract: It should start with the title of the work translated into English (in capital letters), and follow the same pattern as the abstract with 3 to 5 keywords at the end.
  4. Text Body: It is suggested to divide the text into clear and objective sections, which reflect the logical linkage of the research (Problem Characterization, Contextualization, Material and Methods, Results, Conclusions). Excessive use of abbreviations and the use of colloquial, unscientific language should be avoided.
  5. Acknowledgments: If it is the case, the acknowledgments should be succinct and come in a separate paragraph, before the bibliographic references.
  6. References: At the end of the text, order the references in alphabetical order of the surname of the first author. Internal reports will be accepted in references, with the exception of those that are widely disseminated in the scientific community and authorized by consultants. Geonomos uses the same standard of bibliographic normalization of the Brazilian Journal of Geosciences, according to the following models:
