Impactos do ChatGPT no ensino da Odontologia

Introdução: A inteligência artificial (IA), especialmente através de modelos como o ChatGPT, tem potencial transformador em diversos setores, incluindo o campo da Odontologia, ganhando destaque por gerar textos semelhantes aos humanos e sendo cada vez mais explorada no setor.
Objetivo: Mapear e sintetizar a evidência científica disponível sobre os impactos do ChatGPT no ensino odontológico.
Métodos: As diretrizes do PRISMA para revisões de escopo foram seguidas e os detalhes metodológicos foram previamente cadastrados na plataforma Open Science Framework. A busca foi conduzida nas bases de dados PubMed/Medline, Scopus, Embase e Web of Science em maio de 2024, para identificação dos estudos. Foram incluídos estudos que reportaram os diferentes usos, benefícios e limitações do ChatGPT no ensino odontológico para estudantes, professores e pacientes.
Resultados: Dos 161 artigos identificados pela busca, 14 foram selecionados para a análise descritiva de acordo com os critérios de elegibilidade. Quanto ao tipo de evidência fornecida, os estudos transversais foram os mais comuns (n=5), seguidos de estudos experimentais (n=3), comparativos (n=2) e descritivos (n=2).
Conclusões: O ChatGPT pode ser uma ferramenta complementar útil no ensino odontológico, se usado com cautela e supervisão, oferecendo benefícios na educação e informação ao paciente. No entanto, há limitações importantes, como precisão das informações, dependência tecnológica e questões éticas.
