Urbanidade, virtude e vício: o não-lugar da cidade na poesia pessoana

Abstract

Neste trabalho pretendo mostrar como as diversas visões da cidade na  poesia dos heterônimos pessoanos, influenciada pela poesia de seus  mestres precursores, oscila entre a imagem virtuosa dos benefícios e a  imagem viciosa dos malefícios do inevitável progresso, consolidandose,  afinal, na idéia de um não-lugar, a cidade utópica e ideal, real porém  onírica, cuja existência só é possível no espaço literário.

This essay shows how the different visions of the city in the poetry of  Fernando Pessoa’s heteronyms, influencied by the poetry of his precursors’  masters, goes from the virtuous image of the benefits to the vicious  image of the malefactions of the inevitable progress, consolidating, finally,  in the idea of a non-place, the utopian and ideal city, real but dreamlike,  whose existence is possible only in the literary space.
