Resumo: O ensaio procura estabelecer as relações intrínsecas entre duas fases da vida intelectual de Kandinsky. Aborda, entre outras coisas, o Leitmotiv de sua obra; a relação do pintor com sua terra natal e com a Alemanha, sua visão de mundo. Especial destaque ao tema da contradição.

Abstract: This essay tries to establish the intrinsic relations between two of the phases of Kandinsky intellectual life. It focalizes, among other things, the leit-motive of his works, his relationship to his native land and to Germany and his conception of the world. The theme contradlction is specially emphasized.
