a dualidade dos fluxos migratórios em direção ao Brasil

Although Brazil has experienced a loss of population to the rest of the world in the last decades of the last century, the country continues to receive a significant population contingent through international immigration. This occurs at the same time as the structure of the labor market has been changing both by aspects of demographic nature and by changes in the educational composition and occupational insertion of workers. The objective of this article is to show the composition of the international migratory flows that Brazil receives, in terms of insertion of immigrants in the labor market. This is based on a reflection on the process of demographic transition and changes in the structure of the labor market. The analysis shows that the country has been receiving both immigrants who occupy low-skilled occupations as individuals occupying privileged positions in the labor market, configuring a duality of international migration to Brazil.
