This article aims to list and summarize the main events that helped to consolidate a sports field linked to the practice of skating in the city of Campo Grande, capital of the State of Mato Grosso do Sul. The construction of the narrative took place through semi-interviews structured with the main agents involved with the promotion of skateboarding in the city, in particular three shopkeepers who promoted skateboarding at different stages of their development in the municipality. The conclusion points to the importance of three skate shops, the Hot Point, the Toys Skate Shop and the Rema Board Shop, which broke through the purely commercial barrier and invested in the skateboarding scene in different ways, whether bringing professionals for demonstration, creating skateboard videos, organizing championships or sponsoring local talent. The article ends in 2015 when the city revealed its first professional skater, Pedro Iti, to the country.
