Leisure and the Struggle of Street People

Access to leisure is a visible problem in many contexts. Although there are various spaces and facilities spread throughout the city of São Paulo, the poor population suffers the consequences of social inequality, which is reflected in the quality of their leisure. Therefore, using participant observation and semi-structured interviews as methodological tools, this study aimed to document and analyze the organizational process of the games played by the várzea football team "Corote e Molotov," and to reflect on the improvements that a self-organized community was able to implement through social adhesion and participation in football.
