This quantitative study aimed to analyze leisure activities, through the “Escala de Práticas no Lazer” (ELP), focusing on socioeconomic variables. A sample consisted of 885 participants took part of the exploratory research. Data were descriptively analyzed and indicated that social and virtual practices are among the most practiced activities. Differences between genders were identified in manual, social and physical-sport activities, the last ones where higher among men. Single people perform more activities in leisure time. People with low educational level are more engaged with manual, social and virtual activities. Those subjects with higher schooling, carry out artistic and tourist activities. Age was negatively correlated with practices, except for manual activities. Related to incomes, there was a positive correlation in tourism. Although the literature suggests that involvement in activities in the various cultural contents of leisure is positive, results show that socioeconomic issues are determinant for leisure choices.
