Empowerment, Women and Corporate Practices
A Systematic Review of Literature

This article aims to analyze the academic production on the empowerment of women in corporal practices. A systematic review was performed on the bases: Scielo, Web of Science, Lilacs, Pubmed, Medline and Scopus. The time frame was from 2005 to 2015, in Portuguese and English. A total of 14 articles were selected. The results indicate the lack of studies and the preference for the qualitative method. Content analysis was carried out, which allowed the inclusion of three categories: Empowerment as a struggle, Empowerment as a negation and; Empowerment as conformation. We conclude the lack of a "minimal" consensus around the understandings built in the debate. It is necessary to carry out more research on the gender issues experienced in sports and leisure contexts.
