Abstract

The intent of this work is to articulate concepts presented by Bourdieu, Baxandall and Bordwell on authorship and style to the practices of the videogames industry. To achieve this, notes from these authors about creative processes are linked to what is known about work on that industry and about the impact perceived in distinct fields. The idea is to identify the different types of actors and organizations that form this field, perceive the internal relations in the field and the connections with other fields, especially the most powerful instances of society; and list the elements that may be authorship and style markers in an professional activity that takes place in big studios with specialized teams and in indie small initiatives.
