Notes on the Leisure and Recreation Collection

This text aims at publicizing the Digital Repository of the Sports Memory Center (ESEF-UFRGS), particularly the Leisure and Public Recreation collection, which was created in 1997, when Frederico Guilherme Gaelzer and Lenea Gaelzer donated their personal collection. The collection, which is composed of documents from the 1980’s and 1990’s, includes items such as pictures, albums, newspaper snippets, personal notes, didactic material, documents related to recreational activities performed in squares, holiday camps and kindergartens, among others. The collection has been digitalized and will be gradually available for online consultation. This will certainly allow the growth of a number of researches into the area of leisure and related themes, bringing new topics, problems and potentialities to this academic field.
