Abstract

This study's objective is to narrate and analyse an experience of circensial activities with Physical Education students, so as to consider it part of a Physical Education programme in High School. To that end, it starts out from literature review and 'dense description', thus characterizing an eminently qualitative discussion. Circus is no longer an exclusively professional activity, and nowadays its modalities have been practiced by many people as leisure activities, with social and educational ends. This fact entails a discussion on the applicability of circus in each of these contexts and for the training of professionals to meet with the demands. Based on the reflections here conducted, we concluded that inclusion of circensial activities in Physical Education classes in High School may enrich the students' knowledge; contribute for human training and be part of an educational project for free time.
