Abstract

A new species of Onychophora is described from an Atlantic Forest reserve in the municipality of Caratinga – Minas Gerais state, Brazil. The greater number of legs and the smaller number of antennal rings distinguish this new species from M. acacioi and M. ohausi, which occur near the type locality. The primary and accessory papillae arrangements are similar to those of M. valerioi from Costa Rica.
