Fernando Amaral da Silveira (1960-2022) was one of the most important bee taxonomists and systematists, with work of global relevance, even though he left early, at just 62 years old. Among his many achievements, he dedicated much of his energy and enthusiasm to the maintenance of Lundiana: International Journal of Biodiversity. Therefore, we consider that the publication of this volume, in which the authors dedicated their articles to his memory, is a due tribute.
