Abstract

The purpose of this article will be to analyze the production of different discourses from canoeing as a leisure practice, which transits from the deviant to the canonical, from its regulation. The methodology used consisted of an exploratory approach, with the collaboration of different agents. The procedures consisted in combining techniques for data collection: participant and non-participant field observations and subsequent. The course of the analysis suggested the existence of a power relationship (correlation of forces) that sets different subjects in dispute in determination what are the truths of leisure. Since it does not fit socially that any activity in free time be considered legitimate or even legal, especially in a region of the Frontier, in a tensional and dynamic game of oppositions, tolerances and alliances, different discourses and social practices involving the leisure in the waterways go into dispute.
