Case study: IFSP servers and leisure in the city of Salto - SP
OS SERVIDORES DO IFSP E O LAZER NA CIDADE DE SALTO - SP
Abstract
This study is an excerpt of a broad investigation about public leisure policies and the city of Salto-SP. This research is the result of a Scientific Initiation that took place in 2019. The purpose of the study was to identify how the employees of the Federal Institute experience leisure in the city of Salto-SP. As a methodological strategy, we carried out a bibliographic review on leisure and public policies, and for field research, we applied an online survey on the relations IFSP Salto servers establish with leisure in the city. As a result, we diagnosed that the majority of respondents were effective teachers who live in the city of Salto, who have worked on the campus for more than five years; they indicate over 40 weekly hours of dedication to work and point out the time as a hindering element for leisure experiences. Their vast majority knows the spaces and leisure facilities in the city of Salto, but only goes there sometimes. We identified the difficulty of experiencing leisure as associated with the lack of time and options, since most of the servers indicated they had little time for leisure. In addition, the majority of respondents pointed out the tourist resort of Salto has spaces and leisure facilities, but they do not usually visit them and, still, they indicated the policy of events and leisure activities organized in the city are not widespread.
