Abstract

This qualitative study presents the main publications of Celazer – Centro de Estudos do Lazer do Sesc São Paulo – and their influences on leisure studies in Brazil. It is part of the Doctoral Thesis entitled Memories of Celazer: influences and contributions to leisure studies in Brazil, defended in 2018 at the Faculty of Physical Education of Unicamp, and which evidenced such influences and contributions.

Author Biographies

Regiane Cristina Galante, Serviço Social do Comércio - SESC São Carlos

Graduated in Physical Education - Bachelor (1997) and Licentiate (1998), by the Federal University of São Carlos, postgraduate in Leisure by the Federal University of Minas Gerais (2000) and Master in Education by the Federal University of São Carlos (2006). MBA in Project Management from Fundação Getúlio Vargas (2011), PhD in Physical Education from FEF/Unicamp. She served as Programming Coordinator of the Social Service for Commerce (SESC) at the Araraquara unit, and as a Technical Assistant in the Central Administration of SESC São Paulo, in the Sports Physical Development Management. She is currently Deputy Manager at the Sesc São Carlos unit. She has experience in the areas of Education, Physical Education, Sport, Management of Sports and Leisure Projects, working mainly on the following topics: leisure, corporeality, non-formal education and educational sport.

Silvia Cristina Franco Amaral, Universidade Estadual de Campinas

Graduated in Physical Education from the Federal University of Santa María (1989), Master in Human Movement Sciences from the Federal University of Santa María (1995), Master in Physical Education from the State University of Campinas (2003), Full Professor at the Faculty of Physics of Education from UNICAMP (2011) and post-doctorate from the University of Barcelona in the Department of Human Geography. He is a full professor of MS5.2 at the Faculty of Physical Education of the Department of Physical Education and Humanities at the State University of Campinas, working at undergraduate and graduate levels. Leader of the Study and Research Group on Public Policies and Leisure. He has experience in the field of Physical Education, with an emphasis on Leisure and Public Policies, working mainly on the following topics: public policies for leisure, physical education and sports and leisure studies. He is currently vice president of the Brazilian Association for Research and Graduate Studies in Leisure Studies; Coordinator of the Forum of Researchers in the Sociocultural and Pedagogical Area of ​​Physical Education; Coordinator of the MARGEM Laboratory, member of the scientific committee of the Leisure Working Group and the Public Policy Working Group of the Faculty of Sports Sciences in Brazil.
