Abstract

This text displays part of a research masters, whose aim was to analyze the articles of the Journal of Folklore that made reference to folklore, understood as pleasure. With the aim of furthering the understanding of these manifestations as the experience of pleasure, this work makes a connection between three major areas of knowledge: leisure, culture and folklore; and leads the reader to observe a variety of customs and practices contained in a folkloric manifestation in particular Carimbó, considered the expression of the rustic recreation worker. For this, we used discourse analysis, with the documentary corpus, the articles of the Journal of Folklore, published in 1969 Thus, the final considerations show that the study of leisure from the prism of folklore enables a differentiated understanding of the same when that is equated with fun or fun.
