Abstract

This study has attempted to explore the form and trends of keelboat sailing and the development of international keelboat organization. Moreover, it indicates  the restrictions of keelboat sailing in Taiwan. In western counties, sailing is one of the main leisure activities for many people. Therefore, from shipbuilding and equipment to club managing and sailing schools, the sailing business is a well-developed industry with a very high commercial value. There is still room for more market growth in Taiwan in the future. Taiwan welcomes all enthusiasts from around the world to enjoy the fun of sailing over the wind and waves and immerse in the cool sea breeze and bright sunshine of Taiwan. Although the recreational sports of keelboat sailing has been developed for several years in many countries, the development of sailboats is restricted in Taiwan due to martial law, boat licenses, ports, and other factors.
