BOI-BUMBÁ SONGS AND EXPRESSIONS OF BLACK IDENTITY IN THE PARINTINS FOLK FESTIVAL

This article aims to analyze the Boi-Bumbá songs, relating them to themes of black identity and their influence on Leisure Studies. The methodology involved selecting nine songs and categorically analyzing their contents. The results revealed the significant presence of themes related to cultural resistance, valorization of identity and pride, celebration of diversity and inclusion, the fight for social justice and anti-racism, among others. The songs are identified as powerful artistic expressions that transcend entertainment, becoming instruments of resistance and social education. The conclusions point to the transformative potential of songs in valorizing black and traditional culture, combating structural racism, and promoting ethnic-racial awareness.
