Abstract

This study aimed to understand the motivations of the main tourist leisure sports for choice and participation in urban racing events, analyzing your profile, investigating the motivations for participating in such arrangements and identify potential needs and demands. The research was descriptive and focused in quantitative quality, the questionnaires were used as a research instrument. The vast majority of volunteers were aged between 20 and 54 years old, single or married, with income from 1 to 5 minimum wages, education level above high school. According to the volunteers, the main reasons for the practice of road racing are: fun, social interests, welfare, and raising self esteem. It was concluded that this group performs its activities prioritizing the fun, with the aim of encouraging others to engage in this practice. Also, the participants pay attention to the leisure facilities available in the destinations visited.
