CULTURAL PROJECT FOR MEDIUM SIZE MUNICIPALITIES: ARTICULATION OF A CULTURAL POLICY PROPOSAL

Abstract

This article tries to investigate how the identity of a town, city or a group of people is constructed. That is, wants to reflect about: how is the identity of a community built?, what is it that identify and differentiate communities? And on the other hand, it seeks to understand if the fact of having an active cultural movement (cultural centers, cinemas, theaters) is only for cities from a certain amount of inhabitants. Even if it´s true that as more people you have the greater the cultural diversity will be, all communities have some kind of cultural infrastructure. This work arises from the belief that every community, regardless of the number of inhabitants, has culture and therefore, it must be revitalized by constantly creating vehicles and policies for it. In this way this paper proposes a model of an Integrated Cultural Center based on the community in which it is inserted.
