Abstract

The present study sought to analyze the relationship of "leisure users" with the Parque Naturalístico Mangal das Garças. It tried to understand what they considered as a public space, and if they recognized the park as a public leisure space, considering their motivations, their uses and their opinions.  As a methodological point, the research starts from a qualitative approach, through bibliographical research and field research. As a conclusion, we noticed that there is a frequency of use of the Parque Mangal das Garças, in addition to that, most of the time the motivation is contemplation, rather than more leisure experiences.
