Abstract

This work brings to light reflections on the reality lived by street musicians in Barcelona. Imbricated between the glamor of the arts on the streets boosted by the spectacularization of the contemporary tourist cities and the precariousness of the work to which these subjects are submitted, the research had a qualitative approach developed by an ethnography with immersion in the field of 12 months.  This research aimed to understand the relationships and tensions developed in the occupation of public spaces in the relations with the world of work and leisure to reveal the meanings that social practice has to subject practitioners as well as the paths for her to stay alive restructuring itself through the ages.
