Abstract

This study focuses on a descriptive analysis of online comments in a homo-affective publication on Instagram. We seek to conduct an argumentative examination of the data used by commentators in relation to the presence and use of stereotypes, commonplaces and so-called common evidence within a polemics interaction. We delimit a type of analysis with notions and methods of text linguistics, or more particularly, Textual / Discursive Analysis (textual and discursive spaces), as well as the Theory of Argumentation in Discourse (delimitation of types of data used) and Digital Discourse Analysis (notions of technodiscourse and online commentary). The collected comments present characteristics of what is defined as polemics interaction, that is, of an argument wrapped in dissent. The analyzes allow us to conclude that there is a strong tendency to use arguments with stereotyped marks or as what we characterize as common evidence, both in defense and against the subject of controversy. This data represents a strong demarcation of discursive space at the moment of combat from the point of view and the values of opposing groups.
