Author Guidelines

  1. Modality: Submissions are received on a rolling basis, exclusively via OJS, in the following categories: scientific article, essay, interview, review, translation, or artistic production. Thematic dossiers follow their own published deadlines.
  2. Academic degree requirements: A minimum qualification of a Master’s or Doctoral degree is required. Submissions by master’s students, undergraduate degree holders, or authors without an academic degree will be accepted only in co-authorship with a PhD holder. This requirement does not apply to artistic productions and may exceptionally be waived by editorial decision, including for anonymous works or those signed by collectives, research groups, social movements, etc.
  3. Languages: Submissions are accepted in Portuguese, English, Spanish, French, or Italian.
  4. Length (including references): articles: 15–30 pages; essays: 10–20 pages; book reviews: 3–10 pages; other formats: no length restrictions.
  5. Authorship attribution: The journal adopts the Contributor Roles Taxonomy (CRediT) to describe individual contributions. All contributions must be indicated in the authorship form at the time of submission.
  6. Authors’ ethical commitment: Submission implies agreement with the responsibilities and duties described in the journal’s Ethical Commitment statement.
  7. Formatting guidelines: Manuscripts (except artistic productions) must fully comply with the Formatting Guidelines and the Template provided.
  8. Use of Artificial Intelligence: Use of Artificial Intelligence: Any use of generative artificial intelligence tools must be disclosed in the authorship form and described in the first footnote of the manuscript, indicating the purpose, name of the tool, version, and date of use. Authors must comply with the provisions set forth in the journal’s Ethical Commitment regarding this matter.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • Author Guidelines: Prior to submission, the Author Guidelines must be read in full. Compliance with these guidelines is a condition for manuscript evaluation.
  • Originality: The contribution is original and unpublished and is not under review by another journal. Any prior dissemination or publication must be disclosed in the “Comments to the Editor”.
  • File compliance: The file must be submitted in .doc or .docx format and, when subject to peer review (articles and essays), must be properly anonymized, including in the document properties.
  • Authorship information: The authorship form must be fully completed at the time of submission.
  • Ethics in research involving human subjects: Approval by a competent research ethics committee must be provided when required by applicable legislation.
  • Conflicts of interest: Any conflicts of interest must be declared in the authorship form.

Papers

In this section, academic articles of all kinds are accepted; including research, review, opinion, case reports and experience articles. All submissions must present original research and a clearly defined methodology, which will be evaluated by ad hoc reviewers.

Translations

This section accepts translations of texts relevant to the journal’s editorial scope, provided that copyright regulations and the ethical commitment regarding the ancillary use of AI tools are observed. Express authorization from the rights holder(s) is required, unless the original text is in the public domain or licensed under terms permitting translation or remixing, in which case the applicable license must be duly indicated. Translations must establish justifiable interpretative correspondences between the original version and the translated text, and full legal and intellectual responsibility rests with the translator(s).

Artistic productions

In this section, artistic works in various formats are accepted, including literary texts, paintings, photographs, drawings, comics, video-performances and audios. Submissions must be transposable to the journal's digital format.
