Abstract

"Yet" is a videoperformance that proposes to think civil disobedience as a daily act of existence of black bodies. Bringing together four performance and dance artists, directed by Luísa Machala and soundtracked by Fellipe Miranda, the work understands disobedience as a condition of the body and, therefore, it would be revealed in the most subtle everyday situations. It doesn't take much to shake the structural chasms of the racist society we live in. In a mixture of tiredness and persistence, the black body follows, the black body creates, the body moves itself, and above all, moves paradigms. In the creative process, it is decided to bring to the script the nuances between person and artist, work and process, ancestry and contemporaneity, fragility and permanence. Each artist created their path-scene in the surroundings of their homes and, as a creative stimulus, they were invited to think about their daily activities, their relations with that space and how their authorial works could be thought of in this context: to gather, in fall, the artist, the work, the person who wakes up early to work and sleeps late, who takes the bus, who has the flu, who delays, who finds a way to continue the walk.

Synopsis: Even though, the wanderings persists. The body roam with the courage that the flesh carries beyond its own history. In an attempt to heal chasms, Rodrigo listens to his ancestors in Largo do Rosário; Flavi, at risk, tempers flows; Eli creates possible worlds on their face and André builds a way to proceed. In an unburden way, without realizing, disobedience appears as a condition of the body, as the only way to exist.
