The aim of this in vitro study was to comparatively analyze the effect of the soldering type on the fixed prosthesis interface of three elements, using two master models with implants positioned in aligned (straight line) and non-aligned (arch) manners. Twelve work models were divided into four groups (n=3): LA, welding/arch; BA, brazing/arch; LR, welding/straight line; and BR, brazing/straight line, to compare the adjustment qualities of laser welding and brazing processes. After each laboratorial, casting and welding stage, the prostheses were positioned within the master model to assess the abutment/implant interface, thus verifying the adaptation quality both horizontally and vertically. A scanning electron microscope (LEO-435 VP– Germany), at 500X magnification, was used for this analysis. The obtained results were duly logged and submitted to statistical treatment through non- parametric analysis, Mann-Whitney, in a paired form comparing the different soldering and alignment processes (p>0,05). As regards the vertical adjustment, no statistically significant differences could be observed among the different soldering processes nor in the influence of cast structure design in the adaptation of parts. Nevertheless, absolute values of the vertical and horizontal adjustment after the soldering processes were higher for the four groups assessed.
