Influência da embebição dental em substâncias com corantes na eficácia do clareamento dental com peróxido de carbamida a 16%

Resumo

O objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar in vitro o clareamento dental com peróxido de carbamida (PC) 16% em dentes submetidos à embebição em substâncias com corantes durante o tratamento. Foram utilizados 40 incisivos bovinos, divididos em 4 grupos de acordo com o tratamento: G1, G2, G3 e G4 – clareamento com PC 16% 8 horas/dia durante 14 dias. Os grupos G2, G3 e G4, durante os intervalos, foram embebidos em café (G2), vinho (G3) ou refrigerante à base de cola (G4) por 5 minutos, 2 vezes ao dia, respectivamente. O G1 (controle) não foi submetido à embebição em corantes durante o clareamento. Todos os dentes foram mantidos em saliva artificial nos intervalos durante o experimento. Com espectrofotômetro clínico foram medidas as coordenadas de cor L*a*b* dos dentes, antes e após os tratamentos (1º e 14º dias). Os resultados foram analisados estatisticamente pelo Teste t de Student, ANOVA e Teste de Tukey (p£0,05), e mostraram diferenças estatísticas entre as situações iniciais e finais, para todas as coordenadas em cada condição experimental. Não houve diferença significativa entre os grupos que sofreram clareamento e embebição nos corantes (2, 3 e 4) e o grupo submetido somente ao clareamento (1 - controle). Concluiu-se que a embebição dos dentes em soluções com corantes não afetou o resultado do tratamento clareador.
