This paper is a foray into the constituent elements of the tensions arising from the new Forest Code, the project proposed by the rapporteur and member of the government allied base of the current government, Congressman Aldo Rebelo (PCdoB-SP). To carry out this function are mapped and analyzed speeches given by the constituent actors from different places and representatives of social ideologies that clash, complement or even associate with measures proposed to change the Forest Code of 1965. Among the controversial measures envisaged by the “new” Forest Code is amnesty to massive deforestation in the Amazon and the Cerrado, in addition to the change in the criteria for the definition of permanent preservation areas (PPA’s), making them more permissive to productive interests.
