Análise espacial do sistema de tráfego no Campus Pampulha da UFMG

Abstract

This article approachs the application of spatial analysis methods as subsidy to the evaluation of the traffic system in the Campus Pampulha UFMG. For methodological development a composed data bank was set with images and cartographic bases, population data, vehicles storage data, field research generated data due to volumetric counting of vehicles and origin/destination (O/D) research. The processed data made possible the application of a pattern for calculating generated trips related to each one of the buildings in the Campus. The results associated to a system established upon a spatial interactions mesh - a geo-grid - made possible the analysis based on the generation of influence areas, using grid algorithms and adjacency matrix. For the analysis were used the Voronoi Polygons method and available resources in geo-grid analysis models for investigating the relation between supply and demand in parking lots, locating and distributing traffic among system lines. The analysis results made possible the identification of antithetical points and their interferences in the system; regions of parking dispute; places where it has vacancy inoccupation and others where demand is greater than the supply; streets or sections with the traffic contents and the classification related to traffic intensity; and determination of areas where the system is overloaded.
