About the Journal

Focus and Scope

The Multiple Views in Information Science is a scientific publication magazine in electronic format with free and open access linked to the School of Information Sciences of the Federal University of Minas Gerais. It was created in 2011 to disseminate scientific works produced by undergraduate and graduate students.

Unpublished works related to the area of ​​Information Science are published, covering, primarily, Librarianship, Archivology and Museology. The journal defends the assumption that scientific knowledge can be extended to different forms of communication. Therefore, articles from course completion papers, research projects, scientific initiation projects, reports of monitoring activities, extension, students' papers presented at scientific meetings, interviews, essays in different presentation media formats are accepted ( podcast, video). Múltiplos Olhares has the mission of promoting and disseminating the intellectual production of undergraduate and graduate students in the aforementioned area and providing understanding and reflection on relevant topics in the area. 

 

Periodicity

In the year 2020, the Revista Múltiplos Olhares em Ciência da Informação becomes part of the UFMG journals Portal and begins the continuous publication process athematic (continuous submissions, with publication after acceptance), and a thematic volume per year.

The publication in continuous flow means that, as the articles are approved, they will already be made available in the journal, without waiting for a number to be finalized. As of volume 10, inclusive, the DOI will already be assigned and may be mentioned in the resumes, cited and have their citations computed.

 

Open Access Policy

The Revista Múltiplos Olhares em Ciência da Informação is a scientific publication in open access, free and free electronic format. All publications are under a Creative Commons CC BY license and are made available to readers after publication for immediate, free access, at no cost to the user or their institution.

Users may read, download, copy, distribute, print, search or link to the full texts of articles, or use them for any other legal purpose, without requesting prior permission from the publisher or author, as long as they respect the use license of the Creative Commons used by the periodical. This definition of open access is in accordance with the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI) and the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ).

All versions can be deposited in an institutional repository (Diadorim) or another of the author's choice, without embargo.

The Journal Múltiplos Olhares em Ciência da Informação is registered and validated at the OAI-PMH Data Provider Validation and Registration at: https://periodicos.ufmg.br/index.php/moci/oai?verb=Identify.

 

Archiving

The Revista Múltiplos Olhares em Ciência da Informação integrates the Newspaper Portal of the Federal University of Minas Gerais, being preserved, by means of electronic backup, in the infrastructure of the University. The Journal is also preserved in the Rede Brasileira de Serviços de Preservação Digital (Rede Cariniana) that joined the Lots Of Copies Keep Stuff Safe Program (LOCKSS) of Stanford University for digital preservation and in the Preservation Network (PKP PN) under the licenses LOCKSS and CLOCKSS who provide free preservation services on Open Journal Systems.
