Abstract

This study presents an associated result of the research by Mendes (2017), related to the proposal of a methodology for the integration between Knowledge Management (KM) and World-Class Manufacturing (WCM). This integration gave an initial theoretical-conceptual examination creating a comprehensive view of CG and WCM and how these constructs are related. Despite identifying mutual contributions between the two constructs, until 2016, only one article had been identified explicitly addressing the interaction between the theories. From an initial approximation, Mendes and Mattos (2017) suggested models or extensions of methods and tools related to GC and WCM. This study aims to bring to light voices related to the operationalization of KM, identified in the WCM, which can help managers regarding the practice of mapping, sharing, and using knowledge in organizations. As a result, ten voices related to two WCM Pillars, Focused Improvement (FI) and People Development (PD), were identified. We highlighted three voices from Pillar PD, covering some relevant aspects of theories related to KM, such as mapping and dissemination of knowledge and its evaluation.
