Abstract

This paper is a brief presentation of how contradictions and the principle of explosion have been discussed in the history of philosophy. Starting with Aristotle’s presentation on the principle of non-contradiction, we will see how these issues have been discussed in the Middle Ages, in the work of Kant and Hegel, and in the contemporary approaches to paraconsistency.
