Interview with Jacyntho Lins Brandão, Professor Emeritus at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG). Covering his academic trajectory from his first contact with the Greek language to his role in establishing the Brazilian Society of Classical Studies (SBEC) and organizing the International Federation of Classical Studies (FIEC) congress in Brazil, the interview also addresses the institutionalization of Classical Studies in the country, as well as his research on Lucian of Samosata, the ancient novel and, more recently, Akkadian literature, concluding with reflections on the impact of artificial intelligence on Classical Studies and considerations about Eros as a primordial force in ancient thought.
