Semantic Web: ontology or tesaurus?
Abstract
The Semantic Web is an extension of the Web that adds semantics to the current format of data representation. For this, several technologies were proposed, among them the creation of ontologies, aiming at attributing sense and meaning to the content of documents, acting as tool for knowledge representation. In the present research, it was attempted to verify whether the ontologies would be used only to represent the subject of a Web page through terms in context or rather, they would try to control the vocabulary of the Web as a thesaurus.Downloads
