Information and knowledge: an approach about Information Retrieval Systems beginning from social interactions

Abstract

The concept around information retrieval is in the origins of Information Science, being responsible for a remarkable technological approach. Introducing preoccupation about the systems’ users, IS is influenced by cognitive sciences, that don’t privilege social interaction. The article medidates about cognitivistic presupposes about analyzes of Information Retrieval Systems and presents a perspective of authors who consider the necessity of a social approach, so important as technological development.
