The elderly and the Internet: An ethnography about interaction and learning

Abstract

The elderly has been their first contact with information systems through internet, and this contact evolves some particularities. This article explores the interaction of a group of enderly people with the internet, their interests and learning way, fears and difficulties, through an ethnography using participant observation and interviews in depth. The study showed the peculiarity of this group in learning (peer learning), the factors generating the interests; the difficulties and fears involved.
