Information Science as object: practical-disciplinary and epistemological perspectives and the production of narratives

Abstract

Taking into consideration researches which discussed the scientificity of Information Science, our objective is to align them with practical-disciplinary or epistemological perspectives. For that, meanings ascribed to each perspective were considered as parameters. We argued that while one perspective produces narratives aiming to establish disciplinary parameters, the other, complementarily, does it aiming to show aspects of the own internal dynamics of a science.
