Abstract

Information represents a value, delivered in accordance to demands of its customers, which generates innovation, competitiveness and intelligence. The quality of information flow managed in organizations streamlines their decisions processes. When applied to the organizations the lean thinking identifies the expected value of customers, creates patterns in manufacturing processes, eliminating failures and improving processes continuously. This article presents results of a theoretical research providing parameters for qualification of the management and operation of information flows, that are based on criteria derived from the lean thinking. It presents the concept of Lean Information Flow in a exploratory way, designed and reviewed against the theoretical framework built on the research. It presents as contributions a scientific basis for discussions regarding the information assessment flow, and new theories and practices of potential use for the information manager.
