Information Retrieval to Knowledge Retrieval: reflections and proposals

Abstract

Presents ideas and proposals of information retrieval to what is now called the recovery of knowledge. The latter is a relatively new term that still has much to be discussed and studied. Thus, the article presents is that a debate on information retrieval, in which expounded on the various authors treat the subject as well as some tools for information retrieval and classification, thesauri, taxonomies and ontologies, which could also be used for the recovery of knowledge as efficiently as for information retrieval. The intention is not to define the scope of the RC, but to launch a discussion on the subject, in order to raise new contributions and definitions on the subject.
