The history and the role of Brazilian stock exchange as a source of financial information

Abstract

A study is presented of stock exchange organizations with a summarized history of its origin and development at the international level. Details are given about Brazilian stock exchanges, their development and the legislation which regulates their organization and operation. Brazilian information and publishing services related with the stock exchange are described and a list of the main national sources of information is provided. The electronic systems in use for negotiations are mentioned.
