Seminars at Universidade Estadual de Londrina Library Science Program as a tool for teaching/learning and evaluation
Abstract
This paper presents the results of research from the Department of Information Sciences at the State University of Londrina that aimed at identifying meanings and consequences of evaluation practices in the Librarian Sciences Program. The methodology used included the following stages: observation of the reality, identification of key issues, theorization, assumptions for solution and application to reality. A pilot test showed that students view seminars as the best form of evaluation. A survey of the meaning of this pedagogical practice to students and teachers showed limitations in their understanding of such practice, with no clear distinction of its use as a didactic procedure or as an evaluation tool.Downloads
